Founder & Owner
As the founder and man with the connections that no other DMC in the country has, Amur makes sure Elite focuses on the closeness to the Omani people. He is a venue and people scout, leaving no stone unturned. Proudly he spearheads business and product development to service his valued clients with the finest Oman experience and the best employees.
Being an Omani, he is a proud ambassador of his beautiful country and promotes the Sultanate on all continents. His unique position as managing owner creates confidence. In his almost three decade long career he met most makers and shakers of the tourism industry.
Today Amur is a role model to many young Omanis wanting to enter the tourism and hospitality industry. Often his advice is sought on career moves. He is a member in numerous tourism committees, private as well as government.
Amur loves his family, travelling and discussing politics.
After 20 years in senior sales and marketing roles in the deluxe hotel industry on three continents, Karen joined her husband Amur at Elite Travel & Tourism in 2010. At that point the two owners decided to concentrate on their strengths and be different from other DMCs. Rightly so as the success and growth of Elite proves today.
Over time she became the heart and soul of the company. Her European values define the style and philosophy of Elite. With foresight she manages her international team and is in charge of marketing, quality control, safety aspects, sustainability, human resources and IT.
Nowadays Karen’s personal forte is people development. Having managed large teams in the past, she specifically mentors her Omani employees to offer them the opportunity to grow in the ever more competitive tourism industry.
Karen is a dedicated mother, hobby cook, passionate traveller and modern art enthusiast.
Abdul Hakim Hardan
Deputy General Manager
Hakim graduated from the Higher Education College in Salalah in 2006 with a Bachelor degree in Pedagogics. The first five years he worked as a Career Guidance Specialist for the Ministry of Education. In this role, he helped local students identifying a career path suiting their passions and talents.
In 2011 Abdul Hakim joined the family business in Muscat, looking after government relations. He was also responsible for the in-house car rental company. Fully dedicated to tourism, he possesses excellent negotiation and human relation skills. His other strengths are patience, persistence and team spirit. With this, he successfully supports the senior management in the stable growth of the company.
As an Omani, Hakim feels proud to assist his father to maintain an excellent reputation in his home country’s tourism sector. His goal is, to keep Elite thriving while ensuring sustainability.
In his free time Abdul Hakim travels, watches football and listens to music.
Director of Tourism
After finishing his language studies at Ain Shams University in Cairo in 1993, Aziz committed himself full-heartedly to the tourism industry.
He spent many years in leading roles in the biggest tour operators in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. There is hardly an International travel organisation that has not cooperated with him yet. Aziz is familiar with most feeder markets and was involved in the training and development of many tourism professionals who occupy senior roles in the industry today. His main strengths are enthusiasm, stamina and management skills.
His role in Muscat complements perfectly his previous function in the UAE. He knows both countries like the back of his hand and is considered an industry expert. Besides his mother tongue Arabic, he fluently speaks German, English, Italian and Russian.
Aziz likes exploring foreign countries, learning new languages and is keen on sports.
Abdul Rahman Ibrahim
Director of Finance
Born in Kuwait, Abdul Rahman is a Jordanian citizen, who spent 25 years working in leading logistics and tourism organizations in the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Since summer 2017 he calls Oman his home away from home.
After graduating from the University of Madras in 1991 with a B. Commerce degree, Abdul Rahman quickly climbed the professional ladder. With his analytical mind he contributed considerably to the growth of his employers. Being convinced that people are the key to every successful service organization, he has managed large teams. His strengths include specificity, handling complex assignments and resourcefulness.
His tasks at Elite involve overseeing the financial operation and developing measures that support the company’s strategic direction.
Abdul Rahman is a family man and a huge soccer fan. He likes travelling and listening to good music.
Sherien started her career in tourism after graduating from Cairo University’s faculty of tourism in 2003. Ever since her life centered on the travel industry and how to becoming one of the best within it.
Initially she worked with one of the top 10 travel companies in Egypt and handled up to five charter flights per week. Her strength in the group segment results from those days. Sherien is affluent with all nationalities, their special requests and interests. In addition she operated countless leisure, educational, metaphysical and incentive groups.
In 2013 Sherien joined Elite Travel & Tourism. She travelled all around the Sultanate and Emirates to familiarize herself with the destinations, their special places and unique selling points. Today she knows Oman and the UAE by heart, plans every trip as if it was her own and makes sure that guests have the ultimate experience and delight.
Sherien is passionate about her family, friends and very much into travelling the world, reading and art.
Assistant Branch Manager Salalah
Allam graduated with a diploma in Egyptology from the Faculty of Language and Translation at Al Azhar University in 2000.
He started his tourism career in his native country Egypt, where he spent his first years in various locations whilst deepening his skills as well as his sense of responsibility. For years he dealt with up to 300 guests weekly. Also he was part of a team organizing large conferences in several sectors. Since 2017 Allam is an integral part of our team. Although it appears to be a short period, he and his squad made a great impact for Elite in Salalah.
His strengths are strategic thinking, dedication, adopting quickly to new challenges and team play. Allam is very enthusiastic about what he does - his profession is his passion! Besides his mother tongue Arabic he speaks fluently English and German.
Allam likes traveling, bird watching, meditating in the desert and funky music.
Assistant Branch Manager Dubai
"Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." With that philosophy in mind, Sri Lankan Chamara Adikari, has built a dynamic career in the tourism industry. A graduate in IT at Carey College in Colombo, he started his professional career in the UAE, where he spent the last 18 years working at several major hotel chains, a bank and one of the leading hospitality groups in Dubai.
Thanks to his extensive exposure in the travel trade he gained a sound understanding about contracting and reservations, while effectively building strong relationships with clients, hotels and business partners. When the time was ripe, he seized the opportunity and the task to advance Elite into the league of top DMCs in the United Arab Emirates.
His strengths are responsibility, integrity, ambition, the drive to reach his goals and a strong work ethic. He also has the ability to multi-task whilst maintaining a high standard of work.
Chamara is an avid sports fan and was a member of the Lanka Lions rugby team playing in the UAE, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
